Sarah Anne Clendenon Announces Candidacy for Idaho State Senate
Boise, Idaho – March 11, 2022 – Sarah Clendenon announces a change in candidacy declaration for Idaho Legislative District 15. She will now be seeking election to the Idaho State …
It is not enough to be fiscally conservative. Idaho lawmakers need to be actively working to phase out federal money and influence in our state.
Sarah is the mother of three children. She is self-employed as a real estate professional in the Treasure Valley. Sarah’s educational background is in Criminal Justice Administration as well as Public Law and Political Philosophy at Boise State University.
She has been politically active since she was very young. Her maternal family line traces back to Stephen Hopkins, the Mayflower Pilgrim and Mayflower Compact signer. Freedom-defending runs through her veins.
Sarah is very active in the Constitution Party of Idaho. She serves as the State Secretary, the Secretary of the CP-Idaho Ada County Central Committee, and also as a CP-Idaho Precinct Committeeman.
Sarah is the Director of Legislative Affairs for Health Freedom Idaho, a non-profit organization working diligently to preserve God-given rights. Their mission is to inform and educate on natural living, the freedom of health choice and bodily autonomy, avoiding toxins, strengthening immunity, and healing from toxin exposure.
She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Health Freedom Defense Fund, a non-profit organization which seeks to protect and advance health freedom, educating Americans on informed consent, advocating for human rights and bodily autonomy for all people, and legally challenging unethical mandates, laws, and policies when necessary.
Of all the basic rights that human beings possess, none is more sacred than that of bodily autonomy. Defense of this most fundamental of human rights is the primary mission of Health Freedom Defense Fund.
Also, through her work as a freedom advocate, Sarah earned the position of photojournalist and news reporter for Range Broadcasting Network.
In her free time, Sarah enjoys yelling embarrassingly loudly for her children in football and basketball, coaching her daughter’s cheerleading squad, running, dance, reading, writing, and exploring Idaho. Among her heroes are Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Milton Friedman, Ron Paul, and Andrew Wakefield.
Sarah knows liberty is a gift from God, and that every person is born with inherent human rights. She believes that it is the responsibility of every person to defend and protect these rights. She feels deeply called to defend and protect the Idaho and US Constitutions. She does this through legal and legislative work, outreach, writing, teaching, and speaking.

Issues I feel strongly about and rights I will vehemently defend as your Senator:
I begin researching and working on health freedom issues in 2001.
As Co-Director of Health Freedom Idaho, a non-profit created in 2015, I have volunteered my time, talents, effort, and energy to the fight to defend health freedom at the Idaho Capitol, and around the state.
What does that mean? Your inherent right to control your own body. Your personal autonomy and sovereignty. No one can force medical products or procedures on you. You have the right to informed consent. You have the right to make decisions for you and your family without threat, coercion, or force.
I have written and lobbied for several pieces of health freedom legislation. Two bills passed the House of Representatives with veto-proof majorities. One other bill was signed into law in 2021. I am proud of the work I have done to protect the rights of Idaho’s people. There is far more to be done and I am excited to work on these issues as your Representative.
Killing a human is murder. Plain and simple.
Passing legislation to slow it down, reduce the number, put only certain restrictions on it, or any other partial solutions are unacceptable. Abolition of the murder of innocent human babies is essential.
The right to defend oneself is inherent.
This is an unalienable right, one that cannot be infringed upon by government. To keep and bear arms is not only for self-defense, but for controlling a tyrannical, overreaching government. This is non-negotiable. “Red flag laws” are unacceptable, unconscionable, and unconstitutional violations of due process. I will do everything I can to prevent and stop these.
Taxes take away from the prosperity of the people.
They must be eliminated in every way possible. The way to reduce and eliminate this burden is to reduce and eliminate as many government programs, departments, and entities as possible. The massive growth of government, which should always be minimized, has been used to justify the theft of the people. I am looking forward to voting in the House for every possible way to reduce the tax burden on the people of Idaho.
The only proper role of government is to secure our inherent rights.
The states created the Federal government, and in doing so defined it as extremely limited. The Constitutions of Idaho and the United States were put in place to restrict government, not to restrict the people or attempt to enumerate all the rights of the people. As government has grown far past its Constitutionally-defined scope and limits, the rights of the people have been ignored, trampled, and nearly destroyed. We must reestablish our system of extremely small and limited government. We must return to the system our Founders created.
God bestows the responsibility of children to parents for a reason.
Parents know and understand their children, and will protect their interests better than any other person in the world. If we as Idahoans are going to continue funding public education, parents must make the choices for their children. Education money should follow the child – to public, private, charter, parochial, trade, home, or unconventional school. Every child learns differently. Only a parent can make the right choice for their children’s education, and school choice is absolutely necessary.
Idaho has amazing natural resources, some of which cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
We must be extremely responsible stewards of this precious land, water, and resources. We must not allow globalists to come in and destroy or steal the blessings we have here. We are facing threats from many entities, and must be diligent in the defense of our state for our children and future Idaho generations. First and foremost, we must take back control of all of Idaho’s land and resources from the federal government.
The care and upbringing of children is an inherent right granted by God.
This is fundamental and unalienable. It is described this way in Idaho Code, entitled the “Idaho Parental Rights Act:”
“The interests and role of parents in the care, custody and control of their children are both implicit in the concept of ordered liberty and deeply rooted in our nation’s history and tradition. They are also among the unalienable rights retained by the people under the ninth amendment to the constitution of the United States.
The interests of the parents include the high duty and right to nurture and direct their children’s destiny, including their upbringing and education.
The state of Idaho has independent authority to protect its parents’ fundamental right to nurture and direct their children’s destiny, upbringing and education.”

It is the duty of a Legislator to consider the voice of the people, unalienable natural rights, and the Constitution above all else. State agencies, unelected agency officials, the Attorney General, the Governor, and others are part of a separate branch of government that shall be held confined to their minimally defined influence and interference in the Legislature’s work.
